Basic Holster Training Class

Course Description:

The Basic Holster Class is for those who are familiar with shooting pistols and would like to learn more about carrying and drawing from a holster. We offer classes intended to help you improve your pistol shooting skills, such as the Basic and Intermediate Pistol classes. This class is not intended to inform you about the laws concerning carrying a pistol in the greatest state of Texas, for that please look into our License to Carry class and Constitutional Carry class.

If you already own or are looking to purchase your first holster to start carrying a pistol this class is an excellent first step. You do not need to own a pistol or holster to take this class, you can rent a Glock 19 9mm or Glock 44 22LR pistol from us before the class begins and we will provide you with the correct holster.

Key Concepts:

The three-hour class will start with an hour of classroom instruction going over types of holsters, materials, carry positions and methods, increasing comfort and concealability, as well as every day carry considerations. The next section of the class will be learning the 4-step draw using our provided inert training pistols and holsters. Finally, the class will move into the live fire range where our instructors will spend time one on one with each student working up to drawing and firing a pistol.

Required Equipment for the class:

• A Belt 
• State ID
• Eye and Ear Protection (Eye and ear protection will be available to students free of charge if needed)
• A Handgun and at least 100 rounds of ammunition for that handgun and an Outside the Waistband (OWB) holster for that handgun.
  • If you do not have a handgun or you do not have an adequate outside the waistband holster, students will be able to rent a Glock 9mm or 22lr pistol and holster from us for $5 plus the cost of ammunition.
  • If you need ammunition, we do carry most calibers but please call ahead to check on availability.
